WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Senate Majority PAC is up with a new ad in Iowa highlighting Senator Joni Ernst’s favors for special interests instead of helping her constituents as Iowa reports the most per capita cases in the nation.

Sen. Ernst is busy making sure the special interests are taken care of during the pandemic by voting for a slush fund for her big donors. But when it comes to helping Iowa families impacted by the virus, Sen. Ernst voted against paid sick leave not once – buttwice. Ernst has made headlines for pushing conspiracy theories supported by QAnon followers and debunked by public health experts while blaming Iowa’s health care providers who are risking their lives on the front lines.

The television ad is running statewide in Iowa.

“Iowa has become a hot spot for COVID-19 and Joni Ernst has made special interests – not Iowa families – her priority,” said Senate Majority PAC spokesperson Matt Corridoni. “Instead of spouting debunked conspiracy theories and blaming nurses and doctors on the front lines, Joni Ernst should be looking out for Iowans struggling during the pandemic. Joni Ernst has changed in Washington and now her constituents are paying the price for her loyalty to special interests.”

“Iowa now has more per capita cases of Covid-19 than any other state.

“So, we are right to ask: whose side is Joni Ernst on?

“Ernst voted twice against paid sick leave for families affected by the virus.

“But Ernst voted yes to bail out the biggest corporations with a secret, five-hundred billion-dollar slush fund.

“These are the facts…and one more example of Joni Ernst putting the corporate, special interests before Iowa.”
