New SMP Ad: John James Prioritizes the Interests of Oil and Gas Companies Over Protecting Michigan’s Great Lakes

WASHINGTON, D.C. —Today, Senate Majority PAC is up with a new television ad in Michigan slamming John James for prioritizing his donors over protecting Michigan’s Great Lakes.

The Koch Brothers network is known for putting the health of Michigan residents at risk and now they’re teaming up with the oil and gas industries to spend $670,000 to elect John James. It’s no wonder why: John James has said he would have voted against a bill fully funding protections for the Great Lakes and he supports eliminating EPA regulations that keep Michigan water safe.

The television ad, “Piling,” can be viewed here.

“John James is beholden to his donors, not Michigan voters,”said Senate Majority PAC spokesperson Matt Corridoni.“James can’t be trusted to stand up for the health and safety of Michigan when he’s doing the bidding of big oil and gas companies. It’s no wonder voters rejected John James once before, he’s only looking out for himself, not Michiganders.”

Transcript:

“Remember when the Koch Brothers piled up loads of their waste and put our health at risk?

“Now they’re networks at it again, joining with the oil and gas industries, and piling up over $670,000 to elect Republican John James.

“So it’s no surprise James said he would have voted against a bill fully funding protections for the Great Lakes.

“James was even for eliminating EPA regulations that keep Michigan water safe.

“John James is for them, not Michigan”
