New Ad: You Can’t Clean Up Jefferson City With Josh Hawley Still In It

Washington, D.C. (June 8, 2018) – Today, SMP released a new statewide ad reminding Missouri voters that Attorney General Josh Hawley is part of the culture of corruption in Jefferson City. SMP previously released ads underscoring how Josh Hawley dragged his feet on investigating former Governor Eric Greitens after Greitens donated $50,000 to Josh Hawley’s campaign. The new ad showcases another instance of Hawley refusing to investigate a campaign donor. Hawley has refused to investigate an allegedly illegal pay-to-play scheme involving his top donor who boosted Hawley’s campaign with nearly $3 million.

“With Josh Hawley as the top law enforcement official, the pay-to-play culture in Jefferson City has flourished,” said Chris Hayden, spokesperson for SMP. “Josh Hawley ran for Attorney General promising to clean up corruption in Missouri, but his actions as AG have failed to live up to that promise. The case is clear – Josh Hawley is another politician Missourians can’t trust.”
