WASHINGTON, D.C. —Today, Senate Majority PAC affiliated groups, Georgia Honor and The Georgia Way, are expanding their Georgia television reservations by nearly $6 million and will begin airing two new ads in Georgia’s competitive U.S. Senate runoff elections this week.

The new television ads continue to target Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue for profiting off the pandemic while blocking COVID-19 relief for Georgia’s small businesses and workers. The new ads come as Perdue is hit with new allegations of insider trading and Loeffler comes under fire for soliciting campaign donations on government property, with both now facing ethics complaints. A ProPublica investigation also found that Sen. Perdue had pushed for an obscure tax break that would have benefitted his wealthiest donors, including Kelly Loeffler.

“Each day comes with new revelations about the web of corruption that Georgia’s Republican Senators find themselves tangled in,”said SMP President J.B. Poersch. “Georgians deserve to know that Senators Loeffler and Perdue have been serving themselves instead of the small businesses and workers hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic. Their corrupt, self-dealing behavior has hurt too many Georgia families at a time when they need help the most.”

SMP’s new spending builds off of its previous $4.5 million in television buy and $500,000 in digital advertising announced last week. SMP and affiliated organizations have been on the ground in Georgia since early fall, spending $16 million in the general election to persuade and mobilize Black voters and register new voters in partnership with local allies in Georgia, and that work continues ahead of January.
