Digital Media Planner

We are looking for a talented Media Planner to help hold and expand our Democratic Senate majority in this critical midterm election. This position will be centered around building an effective paid media strategy to persuade and mobilize voters. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Digital Director and Deputy Digital Director to build and execute a digital paid media program across key battleground states
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to plan media buys, review reporting, track budget, and manage reservations
  • Work closely with the targeting team to ensure targeting assets reflect strategic priorities for each race
  • Collaborate with TV and radio buying team to ensure digital buys complement other paid media strategies
  • Stay up-to-date on digital advertising tactics, vendor policies, and best practices
  • Work closely with the Digital Director to track digital spend within state budgets
  • Monitor campaign delivery & performance and make strategic recommendations

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in digital media planning and/or buying
  • At least one cycle of political work experience strongly preferred 
  • Experience working with targeting data is a plus 
  • Data-driven with exceptional attention to detail
  • Must love spreadsheets
  • An ability and willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced, demanding environment. 
  • Passion for using your media expertise to elect Democrats and expand our Senate majority

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred but not required.

Spanish Language Content Associate 

We are looking for a talented Spanish Language Content Associate to help hold and expand our Democratic Senate majority in this critical midterm election. This position will be centered around informing, persuading, and mobilizing Spanish-speaking voters through a creative digital approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate ad scripts and visual assets into Spanish 
  • Identify opportunities to communicate with Latino voters, i.e. platforms, influencers, etc.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to plan and implement digital strategies geared towards reaching Latino voters in key battleground states 
  • Work with the creative team to ensure Spanish-language digital creative aligns with goals
  • Write digital ad copy to persuade and mobilize voters 

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in Spanish. An understanding of the variations across the US is a plus. 
  • At least one cycle of political work experience preferred  
  • 1+ year experience in advertising, copywriting, or a related field
  • Excellent writing skills 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills 
  • An ability and willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Communications Director

Senate Majority PAC (SMP) is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to serve as communications director for the 2022 election cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop messaging strategy for individual races
  • Develop press plans and message guidance
  • Create strategic opportunities for outreach to targeted reporters
  • Work with the digital team to develop social media strategy
  • Oversee tv and radio bookings for SMP senior staff
  • Manage the communications department

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience as a communications director in politics, advocacy and/or policy
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalency from an accredited university or college

Press Secretary

Senate Majority PAC (SMP) is seeking a motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as press secretary for the 2022 election cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft statements, press releases, and briefing memos as needed.
  • Pitch stories to both state and national outlets and assist with scheduling interviews.
  • Work with research and communications staff to develop press plans and message guidance for the top Senate races.
  • Work with digital team to develop social media strategy and draft social media content.
  • Manage TV and radio bookings for SMP senior staff.
  • Build press lists and manage a press database of national and state reporters.
  • Assist with sending daily clips and media monitoring on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have at least two years of communication experience and at least one cycle of experience on a political campaign
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to write, proofread and fact-check with precision on deadline
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and work non-traditional hours when needed
