Communications Director

Senate Majority PAC (SMP) is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to serve as communications director for the 2022 election cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop messaging strategy for individual races
  • Develop press plans and message guidance
  • Create strategic opportunities for outreach to targeted reporters
  • Work with the digital team to develop social media strategy
  • Oversee tv and radio bookings for SMP senior staff
  • Manage the communications department

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience as a communications director in politics, advocacy and/or policy
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalency from an accredited university or college

Press Secretary

Senate Majority PAC (SMP) is seeking a motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as press secretary for the 2022 election cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft statements, press releases, and briefing memos as needed.
  • Pitch stories to both state and national outlets and assist with scheduling interviews.
  • Work with research and communications staff to develop press plans and message guidance for the top Senate races.
  • Work with digital team to develop social media strategy and draft social media content.
  • Manage TV and radio bookings for SMP senior staff.
  • Build press lists and manage a press database of national and state reporters.
  • Assist with sending daily clips and media monitoring on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have at least two years of communication experience and at least one cycle of experience on a political campaign
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to write, proofread and fact-check with precision on deadline
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and work non-traditional hours when needed
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalency from an accredited university or college

Creative Director

Position:

We are looking for a talented Creative Director for a new and exciting opportunity: hold and expand our Democratic Senate majority in this critical midterm election. This position will be centered around informing, persuading, and mobilizing voters through a creative digital approach. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the digital director to build and maintain in-house scalable digital and creative infrastructure, including creative production and testing processes
  • Conceptualize and write digital ads for paid digital persuasion and mobilization programs in multiple states, including scripting, graphic design, and video production
  • Communicate strategic and creative directives to outside vendors
  • Explore and help identify partners for campaign efforts
  • Draft, schedule, and develop organic and paid content across a wide array of digital platforms including social media and web
  • Make strategic and creative recommendations to the digital director based on learnings from polling, focus groups, and ad tests, digital best practices, and past experience.

Qualifications:

  • A multi-tasker and effective organizer with a critical eye for details who is passionate about the role digital plays in the political landscape
  • Has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, especially writing and content creation
  • Has an ability and willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced, demanding environment. 
  • Has experience in developing strategic digital, creative, and communications outreach plans and campaigns
  • Has an understanding of digital creative production
  • Has experience producing graphics, video, and other creative assets on short timeline
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and 2-4+ years of experience with digital advertising, content strategy, and/or social media

Video Editor

Position:

We are looking for a talented Video Editor to help hold and expand our Democratic Senate majority in this critical midterm election. This position will be centered around informing, persuading, and mobilizing voters through compelling digital videos.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Creative Director to produce effective persuasion and mobilization digital ads, ranging from short animations to longer CTV spots
  • Conceptualize and write digital ads for paid digital persuasion and mobilization programs in multiple states
  • Maintain video and graphics library
  • Source stock footage, voiceovers, and other creative elements

Qualifications:

  • Experience creating professional video content for a variety of digital channels
  • Exceptional video editing and post-production skills
  • Passionate about the role digital video plays in the political landscape
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • An ability and willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Excel at working on short timelines
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred, but not required
  • 2+ years of video editing or production experience is a must

Spanish-Language Content Associate

Position:

We are looking for a talented Spanish-Language Content Associate to help hold and expand our Democratic Senate majority in this critical midterm election. This position will be centered around informing, persuading, and mobilizing Spanish-speaking voters through a creative digital approach. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Creative Director and Digital Director to produce Spanish-language digital creative
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to plan and implement digital strategies geared towards reaching Latinx voters in key battleground states 
  • Monitor Spanish language competitive
  • Write digital ad copy
  • Translate ad scripts and visual assets into Spanish
  • Identify opportunities to communicate with Latinx voters, i.e. platforms, influencers, etc.
  • Make strategic recommendations to the Digital Director and senior leadership on Latinx voter outreach

Qualifications:

  • At least one cycle of political work experience preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish. An understanding of the variations across the US is a plus.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • An ability and willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced, demanding environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred but not required.

Digital Advertising Associate

We are looking for a talented Digital Advertising Associate to help hold and expand our Democratic Senate majority in this critical midterm election. This position will be involved in all aspects of our digital advertising program, from media planning to competitive tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Deputy Digital Director and Digital Director to track digital competitive across the battlefield
  • Assist the Digital Director with ad budgets and media planning
  • Help manage ad reservations as needed
  • Pull lists for digital ad targeting as needed
  • Stay on top of the digital advertising landscape, including changes to platform targeting abilities, etc.
  • Manage our internal ad tracking system, including reporting and maintaining the creative library
  • Provide competitive updates to the larger team

Qualifications:

  • Multitasker with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Familiarity with the digital ad landscape
  • An eagerness to learn more about political digital advertising
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with media monitoring or competitive tracking preferred but not required
  • At least one cycle of political experience preferred but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred but not required.
