SMP Announces August Ad Reservations

Washington, D.C. (August 1, 2018) – Today, SMP announced that it is reserving $17 million in television advertising airtime for the month of August in Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, North Dakota, Tennessee and West Virginia. Previously, SMP announced an $80 million fall advertising reservation from Labor Day through Election Day.

“SMP’s latest round of reservations reflect the fact that the Senate battleground map has shifted in recent weeks and Democrats have the momentum,” said  J.B. Poersch, President of SMP. “As we head into the fall, SMP is committed to making sure that voters across the country know that Democratic candidates are the ones looking out for middle-class Americans by increasing access to affordable health care, protecting Medicare and Social Security and fighting for well-paying jobs. Today’s announcement is the latest in our efforts so far to execute state-specific, comprehensive media strategies that will help us ensure success come November.”

Today’s announcement means that SMP has reserved time to be continuously on air in Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, North Dakota and West Virginia through Election Day. SMP will add reservations as the summer continues and make changes and additions as the battleground map develops. Separately, a digital component is in the process of being reserved for August.
