Senate Majority PAC and Priorities USA Action Launch $21 Million Digital Ad Blitz in Senate Races Across the Country

Washington, D.C. (September 12, 2018) —Senate Majority PAC and Priorities USA Action are launching a nearly $18 million digital advertising program supporting Democratic Senate candidates in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Missouri and North Dakota. Separately, SMP is announcing a $3 million digital advertising program supporting Democratic Senate candidates in Montana, Nevada, Tennessee and West Virginia. The ads will run wherever voters are consuming content online, including Facebook and video and audio streaming platforms such as YouTube, Hulu and Spotify.

Many of the ads will focus on Republicans’ failure to stand up for America’s middle class and their plans to do further harm to the nation’s health care system. Over the past two years, Republicans have pushed for a dangerous health care overhaul that would spike premiums, raise costs for older Americans and kick millions off of their health insurance—and the threat to millions of Americans’ access to health care continues today with an ongoing lawsuit that aims to eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Meanwhile, Republicans have given massive tax breaks to corporations and the wealthiest Americans, exploding the deficit and sending GOP leaders looking for ways to cut Social Security and Medicare in order to pay for it.

“Across the Senate map, Republican candidates are on the wrong side of the issues most important to voters, and we are using every tool we have to hammer that point home,” said J.B. Poersch, President of SMP. “With Priorities’ help, we are amassing a robust and efficient digital program to communicate to voters that Democrats are the ones fighting for the middle class, while Republicans continue to look out for the wealthy and the special interests.”

“Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are desperate to hold on to power so they can stack the courts, weaken Medicare, and pass even bigger tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations at our expense,” said Guy Cecil, Chairman of Priorities USA Action. “Priorities USA Action is committed to closing the digital spending gap in critical races and is thrilled to work closely with SMP to talk to voters about the issues that matter most.”
