New Ad: Golden Boy Josh Hawley’s Lawsuit Helps Donors and Hurts Missourians

Washington, D.C. (August 1, 2018) – Today, SMP released a new statewide ad in Missouri that continues to focus on Josh Hawley’s tendency to do his political donors’ bidding at the expense of Missouri families. The new ad highlights Josh Hawley’s tax-payer funded lawsuit that would strip health care protections for 2.5 million Missourians while benefiting the insurance industry that contributed greatly to Josh Hawley’s campaigns.

“Golden Boy Josh Hawley bends over backwards to protect his donors while he works to punish the most vulnerable Missourians with a lawsuit that could end coverage for preexisting conditions,” said Hannah Hurley, spokesperson for SMP. “Josh Hawley’s ridiculous lawsuit, paid for by hardworking Missourians, will put money in his insurance industry donors’ pockets and strip millions of Missourians with pre-existing conditions from their health care. Josh Hawley has shown that when given the choice between helping donors or Missourians; he chooses his donors.”
