Anticipating Rick Scott’s Entry Into The Florida Senate Race, SMP Highlights Rick Scott’s History of Serving Himself at the Expense of Floridians

Washington, D.C. (April 8, 2018) Today, SMP is releasing a new digital ad as part of a six-figure digital campaign in Florida detailing how Rick Scott has routinely acted to enrich and serve his own interests at the expense of Floridians. Scott’s history of self-serving began with his time as CEO of a company – where he made millions – that committed Medicare fraud, and continued to his time as governor, where he raised Floridians’ property taxes and slashed education funding while giving massive tax breaks to corporations and multi-millionaires like himself.

“History has proven that if you want to predict how Rick Scott will act, figure out what will benefit his political career and his bank account,” said J.B. Poersch, President of SMP. “The list goes on and on – leading a company that defrauded taxpayers, rewarding state contracts to companies he had a financial interest in, slashing education funding and raising property taxes. With Rick Scott, taxpayers always take a bath while he reaps the benefits. Floridians see right through Rick Scott and they know he cannot be trusted to look out for them in the Senate.”
