Koch Brothers of Kansas Support Agenda “Bad for Louisiana”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- The Koch Brothers, out-of-state billionaires based in Kansas, are trying to buy a United States Senate seat in Louisiana for Bill Cassidy. The Koch-funded organization, Americans for Prosperity, has already spent $3 million attacking Senator Mary Landrieu, Chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, in support of Cassidy.

In response to the $3 million in false ads supporting Cassidy, Senate Majority PAC this week launched a new TV ad in Louisiana attacking the Koch Brothers agenda to buy the Louisiana Senate race and impose an anti-Louisiana agenda on the people of the state.
The “Koch Agenda” would :
§ Kill relief for hurricane victims
§ Protect tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas
§ Cut Social Security
§ End Medicare as we know it
“If the Koch Brothers buy themselves a Senate seat in Louisiana, the real winners will be these two out of state billionaires, because Bill Cassidy will be bought and paid for, and the Koch Brothers will be at the head of the line telling him what to do,” said Craig Varoga, a strategist for Senate Majority PAC who became active in Louisiana campaigns more than 20 years ago.
The Koch Agenda is advanced by numerous Koch-funded front groups, including – but not limited to — Americans for Prosperity, Americans For Tax Reform, the Cato Institute and the Heritage Foundation.
The TV ad, titled “AGENDA,” will air in Louisiana for two weeks. Its full text is: “Out-of-state billionaires… spending millions to rig the system and elect Bill Cassidy. Their goal: another politician bought and paid for. Their agenda: Protect tax cuts for companies that ship our jobs overseas. Cut Social Security and end Medicare as we know it. They even tried to kill relief for hurricane victims. Cassidy’s billion-dollar backers. They’ve got a plan for him. And it’s not good for Louisiana.”
In other news, Senate Majority PAC announced that Baton Rouge consultants Michael Beychok and Trey Ourso will be advising the group in its independent communications in Louisiana. Beychok is a direct-mail consultant and has worked on hundreds of campaigns in Louisiana and other states ranging, from U.S. Senate to City Council. Ourso is the former Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party and was named by Politics Magazine as one of the Top 10 Democratic Influencers in Louisiana.
