Wow, what an election. We didn’t know all of the results results on Election Night, and we didn’t win them all, but this was a tremendous year for Senate Democrats. Earlier today, Maine Senator-Elect Angus King decided to caucus with the Democrats, giving us an even stronger majority.
We went into this election with a theory: we knew the other side would have more money than us, but we thought that if we were smarter, worked harder, and had the support of dedicated Americans, we could not only hold our majority but maybe even strengthen it. A lot of people inside the Beltway thought we were crazy. They looked at the map and thought there was no way.
To all of our supporters who contributed money, shared our ads with their friends, and liked us on Facebook and followed us on Twitter, thank you. Your help made a real difference, and now we have an even stronger Democratic Senate ready to stand with President Obama and fight for our values.
